My work is about presence, getting close and communicating a feeling.
I'm working as a freelance photographer for magazines, newspapers, NGOs and multinational corporations. I'm based in Bombay since a few years.
My photo education I got at Camden Institute in London and at International Center of Photography in New York City. After graduating from ICP in 1991 I started freelance for mainly Swedish printed media in NYC. I was living in NYC until 2002 when I moved to India. I work together with writer Ewa Jacobsson and other journalists. I also have my own studio in central Stockholm and I'm a stringer for Scanpix, one of the largest stock agencies in Europe.
There has never been any doubt in my mind regarding what I will do with my life. By the age of seven, when I got my first camera, I knew right away that I was going to become a photographer. All my life I got the very best support from my parents and brother. At the age of 67 my dad started to photograph and now he is a great inspiration for me. Please check out his webpage!
There is nothing that gives me more pleasure than to be in the creative process of photographing. Creativity gives me life and energy. It's where I develop as a person and learn about life. There is nothing better for me than to dissapear into creativity where there is no time and no place. It's endless. My images are the greatest thing for me and I'm forever thankful for all people who let me photograph them.
